CareerPassion

Q&A

Questions & answers.

Part 1: Student Perspective

1. Service Positioning & Target Audience

CareerPassion is a career community.

CareerPassion is built for any one who interest to explore career and build experience on it. It is great for students, graduates, career switchers

Simple 3 steps for candidates and companies

  1. Step 1register and indicate interests/skills (for companies, they will give project requirements)
  2. Step 2ai will match projects among candidates and companies in Asia (mostly no paid projects)
  3. Step 3candidate will accept the recommendation and contact the company for next steps (interview, time, detail expectation).

** We recommend candidates to accept multiple projects in order to gain more experience

2. Practical Career Outcomes

  1. Understand the career option
  2. Gain real experience from multiple projects in different companies
  3. Companies gain manpower support and offer learning to future talents

3. Pricing & Membership Benefits

  • Free: profile, the Career Compass assessment, community access, public career talks and events, and a limited number of opportunity applications.
  • Gold Member (paid subscription): more priority applications, earlier access to newly posted opportunities, exclusive industry events and company visits,

4. Protection & Safety

  • Projects, Career talks, company visits and mentorship are learning activities rather than work
  • Companies will select candidates who are suitable for their projects

Part 2: Company/Enterprise Perspective

5. Core Enterprise Pain Points

  • Recruitment: finding motivated talent is slow and expensive, especially for startups without in-house recruiters. CareerPassion offers a platform to find candidates who are keen to learn without agency success fees.
  • Employer branding: smaller companies can build visibility with early-career talent, switchers and experienced returners, competing on culture and purpose rather than brand size.

6. Project Types

Companies can publish any projects including the below:

  • Support of new product launch (marketing idea, poster design)
  • Website development
  • Chatbot development
  • Process improvement
  • Customer survey
  • Product Design etc

7. Operations & Administrative Division

  • Platform: handles registration, first-round screening by AI
  • Company: makes the final selection, runs the activity or project, and supervises the work. We recommend to get a few participants for project so that they can share workload and complement each other skills. This way also mitigate the risk of no show and underperformance.
  • Disputes: Serious breaches lead to account action on either side. The platform acts as facilitator but not as the employer.

Part 3: Privacy & Security Framework

8. Phase 1: Blind Matching & Skill Tagging

Companies see an anonymised profile card containing:

  • verified skill tags
  • the match score and a short explanation of the match
  • portfolio summaries with outcomes (identifying details removed)
  • endorsement count and ratings (To be implemented)
  • reliability history
  • availability

This works like a blind CV: companies judge candidates on evidence, which also reduces unconscious bias. Endorsements and portfolio entries are verified by the platform, so the anonymised information can be trusted.

9. Phase 2: Mutual Interest & Data Unlocking

  • Unlock condition: Once the AI match score meets a threshold, and students can apply to the project and companies can approve their application. Only after approval of application does the student see the company name and the company see the student's school and major. Name and contact details stay hidden.
  • Exit: either side can decline at any time. The profile is then locked again for that company, and the company can no longer see the unlocked fields. Access logs are kept for audit, and no data may be exported. Declining carries no penalty. Repeated patterns of unlocking and then declining are monitored to prevent data harvesting.

10. Phase 3: Formal Collaboration & Legal Safeguards

Once the company accepted the student application, full contact details are unlocked and mutual communication can be started. Companies can decide whether they need their own NDA, terms on who owns the project IP etc.
